How does a home exchange work on our platform?

Is it safe to exchange your home?

Yes, Homizon has implemented several security measures:

  1. Verified profiles: All members must identify themselves with a passport/ID card; provide proof of address; complete a detailed form on their profile.
  2. A review and recommendation system: Users are invited to rate and comment on their experiences on the platform.
  3. Insurance on exchanges: Both subscription plans include insurance covering all damage and loss. For the single exchange plan, insurance is optional, and in the event of a claim without insurance, the related costs are borne by the customer or their personal insurance.

No, your home insurance may cover home exchanges, but we recommend that you check with your insurer.
In addition, insurance is included in the subscription packages.

Exchanges are based on trust and reciprocity between our members. In the event of a problem, we therefore encourage communication between the parties. If disagreement goes on, our customer service and legal departments are available to assist you. Contact us

How can I register on Homizon?

Registration is easy and quick:

  1. Fill in the registration form with an email address.
  2. We create your advertisement using the photos you provide and a description of your accommodation.
  3. Add your travel preferences to find compatible exchanges.
  1. Be of legal age, a student, and a tenant of an exchangeable property.
  2. Have your profile completed and verified with the necessary documents and a detailed description.

How do I find a home to exchange with?

Use our advanced search filters to refine your selection based on:

  1. The destination
  2. The type of accommodation
  3. Dates available
  4. Equipment and your specific criteria

Yes, provided that both parties agree. The exchange can be simultaneous – you go to someone else's home while they come to yours – or deferred – you exchange on different dates. It can also be direct – between two parties – or indirect – involving multiple parties. 

Our integrated algorithm finds the property that suits you best. 

Once you have subscribed or choose a one-time exchange, you can contact members via the platform's secure messaging system.

Yes, cancellation is possible and free of charge before agreement by all parties.

Once they have agreed, we encourage you to notify the other parties as soon as possible and, if possible, to find an alternative together.

However, cancellation may incur additional charges if made less than one week before the exchange. (See cancellation and refund conditions)

How do I prepare my accommodation for an exchange?
  1. We will assist you with your request to your landlord: As you are a tenant, you must notify your landlord before making your exchange. Here is a pre-filled form to make this easier for you.
  2. Tidy and clean your home before your guest arrives. Here is a to-do list of small things to do to ensure a welcoming and clean home for your guest. Click here.
  3. Provide instructions in the section provided for this purpose on the platform (Wi-Fi code, how to use appliances, house rules, etc.).
  4. Make sure you have the essentials on hand (sheets, towels, basic toiletries).

Yes, but we recommend that you store your sensitive or valuable items in a secure location.

  1. Exchanges are based on mutual respect and reciprocity. I leave the accommodation I have enjoyed in the same condition as I would like to find my own.
  2. Any incident must be reported promptly so that a solution can be found.
  3. The insurance is there to cover any damage, subject to proof. (Hence the importance of taking clear photographs of each room in your home before the exchange).

Yes! Every member is encouraged to leave feedback about their experience (on our Forum), which helps build a strong, engaged and trustworthy community.

Is Homizon free?

No, our exchange service is subject to one of the following options: annual subscription, monthly subscription, or one-time exchange.
But once you have subscribed, exchanges give you access to a points system. which does not incur any additional costs. In the case of a one-time exchange, you are free to pay for insurance at the time of exchange. 

A premium account is our annual subscription, which includes several benefits: 

  1. All insurances included
  2. Point compensation system
  3. Priority access to new listings
  4. Priority support
  5. Local mentoring 

You can cancel your subscription at any time in your personal account. However, you will lose all the benefits offered by the platform. Your subscription will remain active until its expiry date. 

  1. If the member is an annual subscriber, cancellation is completely free of charge up to 48 hours before the exchange, and our services will help you find an alternative. 
  2. If the member is a monthly subscriber, cancellation is completely free of charge up to 7 days before the exchange, and our services will help you find an alternative. 
  3. If it is a one-off exchange, the cancellation may be fully refunded if both parties agree, but without agreement this may incur additional costs. We will offer you alternatives, but we cannot guarantee it. 
  4. Current subscriptions are not refundable in the event of cancellation. 
  1. The annual subscription provides access to numerous features (insurance, points system). 
  2. The monthly subscription requires a minimum quarterly subscription with monthly billing. This means that you are automatically subscribed for the first three months but pay monthly. 
  3. Termination results in the loss of all benefits on the expiry date.
  4. The monthly subscription can only be renewed after cancellation once a year, at least two months after cancellation. However, it is still possible to subscribe to another service.
